Zagg Inc. announced the release of appSpace, an online smartphone app recommendation engine.
"The smartphone app industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds, and it is increasingly difficult for users to find apps," said Cameron Gibbs, Director of Apps of Zagg. "The recommendation engine behind appSpace is the most powerful tool available today, and allows users to discover apps tailored to them."
Zagg released appSpace for private beta testing of their recommendation engine in July 2009. Zagg further noted it has utilized the compiled testing data to fine-tune the user experience, leading to the official launch yesterday, December 1. Users can discover apps based on their interests, their profile, their installed apps, and their app ratings. In addition, appSpace allows users to view their friends' favorite apps through social media utilities, watch video demos, and read the opinions of other appSpace users.
"The iTunes App Store already has over 100,000 apps available, and development for other platforms is catching up quickly. It has become impossible to find the perfect app for you without some sort of help," said Robert G. Pedersen, President and CEO of Zagg. "With appSpace, you have a powerful recommendation engine based on your unique user profile, including your preferences and ratings, as well as being able to see the apps your friends have. It is an ideal source for enhancing your smartphone app experience."
Zagg designs, manufactures, and distributes protective clear coverings and accessories for consumer electronic and hand-held devices, worldwide under the brand names invisibleShield and Zaggaudio.
